At Dublin Gaels Basketball Camp, we are passionate about providing each camper with the tools necessary to be successful in the game of basketball. Not only will the camp focus on the basics of effective ball handling, footwork, passing, and shooting techniques, but will also provide guidance in sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-discipline. Our mission is to meet the expectations of players at any skill level.

Our excellent coaching staff is composed of top high school and collegiate players and coaches under the leadership of current Dublin High School Boys Basketball Coach Tom Costello. These coaches are handpicked because of their love of the game and eagerness to share their experience with the youth of the Tri-Valley. Coach Costello brings decades of experience teaching basketball fundamentals to every camp session.

A lifelong resident of the Tri-Valley, Coach Costello has been a schoolteacher for over 16 years and has been playing and teaching the game of basketball for over 30 years. Prior to coaching at Dublin HS in 2006, Coach Costello played collegiately at Chabot College and San Francisco State, has been a college-level assistant coach and was Head Coach at Tennyson HS in Hayward.

Among the teams' accomplishments during Coach Costello's tenure:

  • School record for most wins in a season thrice - 29
  • DFAL Champions (2013)
  • EBAL Champions (2017, 2020)
  • NCS Quarterfinals (9 times)
  • NCS Finals (5 times)
  • CIF State Playoffs (9 times)
  • CIF NorCal Open Division Semifinals (2020)
  • CIF NorCal Finals (2013)
  • NCS Honor Coach (2013)
  • Bay Area Coach of the Year (2020)
  • Coach Costello's teams are known for exciting, uptempo basketball and his camps focus on these same skills, teamwork and positive attitude.
